The Radiology Department at St. Francis Hospital is a leading provider of high-quality imaging services.
Located at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn and our satellite campus at the DeMatteis Center on Northern Blvd. in Old Brookville, we offer a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for both in-patient and out-patient procedures.
It is our goal to provide you with the most accurate diagnosis and efficacious treatment. Our team is a highly-experienced, board certified, fellowship-trained group of subspecialty radiologists. We work closely with other departments within the St. Francis community, like our renowned Women’s Health Center to provide the best in treatment and preventive care.
We are committed to technological innovation. We were the first on Long Island to offer a revolutionary new 64-slice scanner for coronary CT angiography and other clinical and research purposes. Our 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner provides the highest-quality images so we can offer you the highest level of patient care.
Both of our campuses are linked with our innovative PACS system that allows images and information in either location to be viewed instantly. This equates to fast, accurate results and immediate treatment.

Key Treatments
There are many treatments and services available through our Radiology department. Here are a few and we recommend that you check with your doctor to see which would best suit your needs.
Interventional Radiology
Used for diagnostic and treatment purposes, interventional radiology employs x-rays, ultrasound, and MRI.
Nuclear Medicine
This specialty uses radioactive compounds to perform diagnostic imaging examinations.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging, also called sonography, is a method of obtaining images of the body using high frequency sound waves. Ultrasound can be used to examine internal organs, including the heart, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and bladder. Our center provides a wide spectrum of routine and specialized sonographic procedures.
Uterine Fibroid Embolization
This non-surgical solution to treating uterine fibroids is a minimally invasive alternative to myomectomy and hysterectomy that offers less risk, less pain and a much quicker recovery for the patient.
Women’s Health Center
At our DeMatteis Center, we offer a full-service Women’s Health Center. Treatments include mammography, breast MRI, breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, bone densitometry and pelvic ultrasound.
