St. Francis Hospital to Participate in WFAN's Radiothon on September 11 and 12
ROSLYN, NEW YORK (September 3, 2008) - Mike Francesa, host of the "Mike'd Up" sports radio broadcast, has invited St. Francis Hospital to participate in WFAN's Radiothon on September 11 and 12. His appreciation for the quality care delivered at St. Francis has resulted in a partnership with the hospital, focused on improving access to healthcare for the working poor.
Proceeds from the radiothon will be directed to the Mike Francesa Champions of the Heart Fund at St. Francis Hospital to help working men and women who lack adequate health insurance access life-saving cardiac care. The Fund will also help support a mobile cardiac outreach unit for screening and education in low-income communities, as well as renovations to cardiac facilities at St. Francis. Also participating in the radiothon is the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which supports programs related to cystic fibrosis.
Tune in to WFAN beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday, September 11 and running through the morning on Friday, September 12 to hear from patients and physicians representing St. Francis Hospital. Click to visit WFAN’s web site for additional details.
